Pathway Reflection

I enrolled in Pathway program in 2018 spring. In this semester I take the classes of INYO-504, EAP-508, AIT-512 and AIT-524. All of these classes are challenge and need hard work. However, these classes also enhanced my academic ability and research skills.

INYO-504 help me better adapt the academic environment of America. When I just come here, I was facing communication problem, culture diversity and academic stress. INYO-504 helped me to overcome these barriers. In INYO-504, I learned how to overcome the diversity of academic background between America and China. Additionally, I also get many chance to practice my English. In this class, I need to collaborate with others and do presentation in front of people. This practice helps me become confidence to communicate with others. Besides, in INYO-504 I learned much resource of George Mason University that could benefits my future study.

Different with INYO-504, EAP-508 focus on improving my academic ability. In EAP-508, my partner and I work together to finish some specific research about our major discipline. This research is a literature review, therefore we based on previous research to find a gap about our major discipline. In the process of research, I learned a method to read academic article and some writing skills that would help me in my future study. Additionally, I also find some direction that I can research in future.
